Hey everyone! Welcome to the new site. I'm so excited that the day of the new Thad Cockrell web launch. You know its creepy when I start referring to myself in third person. However, I am really excited to get this new record out and to give this music a chance to be heard. In the words of Sam Cooke "its been a long time coming." The record releases digitally on October 13th, but the pre-order is on now, so don't hesitate to order, and get a digital version of the album before it releases. I usually don't talk about songs and their meanings. i would rather let them say what they will, to whom they wish, and let it be. However, I feel I should give some introduction to this collection. This record has developed a relentless will of its own. Many times, over the last two and a half years, we thought our efforts were coming to an end. In those moments, without warning, an outstretched hand seemed to be lengthening the road. These are songs I needed to hear, songs I believe and songs I'm glad I get to sing. If you and I were to sit down and have a conversation, over the course of an hour, this record would encapsulate most of the subjects discussed. God, beauty, redemption and my need of it, love, the lover written upon one's soul, open spaces, winning and losing and El Caminos. I hope this comes across. A dialogue between you and I.
